Day 2- Workshop: VIDEO as a didactic tool
Today, we visited the University of Kiel and we had a Workshop about using videos as a tool in the classroom.

We started to look at tutorial 5 about video-making and I learned a lot of professional advice on  how to make a video. It made me think of how important it is for the teacher to not tell the students to make a video without giving them knowledge of how to actually do it, such as camera angles, camera perspectives, camera movements, light, framing and sound. In my opinion that can make the students even more interested in making videos which is, for me, a requirement to use it in my lessons. I really think that self made videos can help shy students to show their knowledge in a video instead of speaking in front of people. Video is also a good way to collect the students reflections’, and sending them to the teacher, which gives everyone the same opportunit, whether they can write or not. This last perspective about inclusion is my favourite one. I would like to offer as many options  as possible to my students so they will never feel that they are not good enough, because they always have a choice that suits them.

It was also interesting to learn about different types of videos, such as Talking head, Cutout animation, Recorded lesson, Screencast and Blackboard animation. Even though I recognized them all from my school period, I have not realised about the difference between them. I wanna use that information when I am planning my teaching for different students, some of them may need my face in the video (talking head) to see how I move my mouth while I pronounce the words, while others need to understand words, and using animations, like Cutout animations, is more benefitting.
